Scholarships

Every year, the MMA awards thousands of dollars worth of scholarships to high school seniors who have demonstrated leadership, dedication, musicianship, and community participation in music.  Scholarships are made possible by our annual fundraising campaigns, generous donations, and a committee made up of Fowler parents and community members.

The Charles Garabedian Music Scholarships were established by a grant from the Una F. Murray and Harold McDonald Family Gift Fund in honor of Mr. Charles Garabedian, esteemed Band Director of MHS from 1953-1988. Recipients of these awards consistently demonstrate leadership skills in music-oriented class settings and commitment to the music programs of Maynard Public Schools.

The William C. Brisson Music Scholarship was created by MMA in 2015 in honor of Mr. William Brisson, a former Fowler Band Director. This scholarship goes to a senior who demonstrates dedication to the music programs of Maynard Public Schools through leadership and participation, drive for self-improvement musically, technical skill and perseverance through practice, and participation in music endeavors outside of MHS. This person also demonstrates a strong passion for music as well as the desire to include music as a life-long practice.

Chosen by the Jeannotte family, the Ronan Jeannotte Music Scholarship recipients have plans to pursue music as a primary area of study after high school.
